Sharpen them, melt the shavings, and make multi-racial minifigure crayons.
Never a dull moment or crayon
There's nothing worse (yes, highly exaggerated) than coloring with dull crayons, and so today was one of those days where I took action and did something about it — conducted a long overdue, much needed crayon sharpening session. And I already feel much better.
Very Hungry
I didn't discover Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar until becoming a mom, and I love it! And it's no surprise that my son loves it too. So it only seemed fitting to throw him a The Very Hungry Caterpillar-themed 1st birthday party. Here are some of the details I worked on.
Pom pom caterpillar
Apple-shaped smash cake for the birthday boy
Apple-shaped cinnamon apple cupcakes for the guests
Crabapples and forelle pears + gumballs as favors
The Square Root of 1
I love planning themed-parties as I love trying to think of all the ways we can incorporate the theme into even the smallest details. Here are some of the pieces I worked on for my son's math/nerd-themed 1st birthday party.
Bowties for the boys and hairbows for the girls
Glasses and bowtie picture props made out of foam and straws
A food-coloring-free and egg-free smash cake for the little guy turning one squared
Fondant-topped blue velvet cupcakes for the guests
Never leave home without them.
